Instructions for Volunteer Application

Qualifications for volunteers

 

1. 18 years of age or above, with a passion for contemporary art, enthusiasm for service and a sense of responsibility.

2.Those who can strictly adhere to the duty hours and basic service hours requirements.

3. Be able to abide by the volunteer service rules and cooperate with the tasks assigned.

4. Be able to accept the evaluation and recommendations of the museum on service work.

5. Be able to participate in all education and training courses held by the museum.

 

Volunteer Services

 

1、Visitor Service: Attend the exhibition, take care of the exhibits, serve and assist visitors. Please refer to the service description of the exhibition hall.

2、Promotion and education services: exhibition guide (need to pass the test), assistance in promotion activities such as lectures, forums, seminars, etc.

3、Administrative support services: administrative support such as data processing, temporary activity assistance, etc.

4、Special expertise services: exhibition engineering, translation, interpretation, photography, videotape, website design, plumbing and electrical engineering, etc.

5、Team logistics services: scheduling, recruitment registration data collation, training, organization, activity liaison, etc.

 

Volunteer obligations

 

1. Sign the "Volunteer Management Method Consent Form" and abide by all regulations and duty rules during the service period.

2. Volunteers are required to participate in the required education and training courses, including pre-vocational training, field practice, on-the-job training, professional training, etc.

3. Volunteers must be on regular duty on time, and must not be late or leave early, if a leave is required for any reason, it must be handled according to the Volunteer Management Regulations.

4. When the volunteer work is terminated, the identity card must be returned.

 

Volunteer benefits

 

1. Free visit: visit the exhibition and exhibition-related educational activities of the museum for free during the volunteer service period.

2. Free training: attend art lectures, business classes and other training activities for free during the volunteer service period. Understand and participate in the professional work behind the scenes and get close to artists, artworks, curators and experts and scholars.

3. Priority participation in activities: Enjoy priority participation in lectures and other educational activities held by the Museum during the service period.

4. Certificate of service: Volunteers with at least 80 hours of service can be issued a volunteer service certificate by the management department.

5. Shopping discount: 20% discount on the purchase of the museum's merchandises during the service period.

6. Allowance and gifts: a T-shirt which is the opening gift of the museum will be given to those who have served 150 hours; a catalogue of the current exhibition will be given to those who have served more than 300 hours. The museum will provide lunch/dinner for those who are on duty for a full day shift on the same day; a transportation allowance of ¥10 will be given to those who serve for more than 4 hours each time.

 

Training for volunteers

 

1) Basic training: In-house training in accordance with the government law on volunteerism, covering relative theoretical courses.

2. Pre-job training: Through intensive short training courses, new volunteers will learn about the functions of the museum, contemporary art and basic concepts of volunteer service. This will enhance the volunteers' comprehensive understanding of the museum's services.

3. On-the-job training: The program is planned according to the content of the exhibition, including exhibition concept, on-site touring, practical exercises, and study visits outside of the museum, aiming to cultivate the necessary professional knowledge and improve the service quality.

4. Internship training: In order to understand the work content and duty precautions of our volunteers, the staff or senior volunteers of the museum will provide practical training. The internship period is 3 months. During the internship, you must participate in the entire study course, and meet the basic hour requirement. At the end of the internship, volunteers will be evaluated according to the hours of service and their attitude towards duty, and those who pass the evaluation will be issued a official volunteer card.

 

Application process:

 

1、Download the volunteer application form at the bottom of the page, fill it out and send it to hsam@sndcc.cc

2、The museum will conduct preliminary examination and then notify the interview.

3、Receive the notice and report as scheduled.

4、Participate in the volunteer training and pass the assessment, you can officially become a volunteer of Hanshan Art Museum.

Special note: Volunteer recruitment is divided into specific exhibition volunteers, and long-term (more than one year) volunteers.
